Text Tools

Fancy text you can paste anywhere

Type once and see every style at once. These paste into places that strip formatting, because they are not formatting — they are different characters.

These are different Unicode characters, not formatting. They paste anywhere, which is the appeal — but screen readers announce them as mathematical symbols or skip them entirely, and search engines do not match them against the ordinary word. Good for a display name, wrong for body text.

How it works

01

These are characters, not formatting

A “bold” letter here is a distinct Unicode character that happens to look bold. That is why it survives being pasted into a bio or a username where real formatting would be stripped — and it is also why a screen reader announces it as mathematical notation or skips it, and why search engines do not match it against the ordinary word. Fine for a display name; wrong for anything that has to be read aloud or found.

02

Some alphabets have holes

Unicode assigned several mathematical alphabets before the letters that would have filled them were needed elsewhere, so script capital H and a dozen others live outside their otherwise contiguous blocks. Generators that assume the blocks are continuous produce words with gaps in them; the exceptions are handled here.

03

Unmapped characters pass through

Most of these blocks have no punctuation and no accented letters. Those are left as they are rather than dropped, because a missing letter is far worse than an unstyled one.

What it does

Sixteen styles at once

Type once, copy whichever you want.

One-click copy

Each style has its own button.

Runs in your browser

No account and no upload — what you type is never sent anywhere. Analytics records that the tool was opened, never what you put into it.

Practical advice

Getting a better result

  • Good for a display name or a bio. Bad for anything that needs to be searchable — the styled word does not match the ordinary one.
  • Some platforms reject styled characters in usernames, and some render them as boxes on older devices. Check before committing to one.
  • Screen readers announce these as mathematical symbols or skip them, so never use them for text that carries meaning.

Questions

Things people ask

Why does this work where formatting is stripped?

Because it is not formatting. A bold letter here is a distinct Unicode character, so there is no markup to strip — the platform sees ordinary text that happens to look bold.

Will everyone see it correctly?

Mostly, on modern devices. Older systems and some fonts lack these characters and show empty boxes instead. The circled and squared styles are the least widely supported.

Is it bad for accessibility?

For anything that has to be read, yes. Screen readers announce these characters as mathematical notation or skip them entirely, so a bio written in styled text can be unreadable to someone using one. A display name is a reasonable use; a sentence is not.
